Overall, Brianna put together a solid project with Face Off. The intro is a simple, hard hitting beat that allows her to showcase her lyrical skills. As a young artist who began rapping at such a young age I think it was appropriate for her to begin by showing her maturity as an artist. Then it moves on to “Reality Show” which totally switches the tone of the project. “Reality Show” is pretty indicative of what the mixtape has to offer, songs with a bounce to them that you can jam to at home cleaning, or in the car on the way to the club, and of course while you are out partying. Southern music for the most part jams and Brianna’s style on Face Off offers just that. Throughout the project there are some songs that use instrumentals that we have heard before, but what is different in Brianna’s case is that she modifies the beat in some way so that it is not exactly the same, therefore making it her own. In a time when there is a lack of originality in hip hop, this is a good show of creativity on behalf of her and her team. “Slidin” featuring Teairra Mari is one of the more vulnerable songs on the project in which she discusses a relationship with a man. Other artists featured on the mixtape, include Wale, Trina, and Future just to name a few.

-”Back Der”: It’s just a nice, catchy party song with a feminine vibe that will have the girls sweating it up at the club to it.
” Never Too Late”, “Till It’s Over”, “Dear Hip Hop”, “Face Off Outro”: These songs are where Brianna shows her lyrical and delivery strength along with conveying strong messages in a way that still entertains.
